On January 8, 2014 I read a piece on xoJane (which I’ve written for, by the way–you can read it here) about women who are committed to having a 33-piece capsule wardrobe. I’m not sure how 33 became the magic number, but it’s been popularized by Courtney Carver’s blog Project 333, which supports the idea of having a 33-item wardrobe for 3 months, changed out for each season. I was inspired by this piece to reduce my considerable wardrobe, given that much of it no longer fits and no longer suits my lifestyle. The bin full of 24 pairs of tights pushed me over the edge and into the abyss that is my closet (and the spare closet downstairs). On this page you’ll be able to see what I’m releasing, what I’m replacing (maybe, since I haven’t figured out what I need), and what I’m stuck with in the meantime.
